Nov 2: L’Encyclopédie de la parole
4. L’Encyclopédie de la parole: Chorale
L’Encyclopédie de la parole will create the first-ever English version of Chorale, a performance by a “choir” of fifteen performers. Instead of a singing choir, the "Chorale de L'Encyclopédie" is a spoken vocal ensemble. Four of the key artists in L’Encyclopédie de la parole—artist and playwright Joris Lacoste, curator Grégory Castéra, actress Emmanuelle Lafon, and poet and performer Frédéric Danos—will hold a two-week workshop in New York City, during which they will work with on a repertoire of English speech clips from their library, each originally gathered for varying qualities of their own.
