Slide #7
David is working on a collaborative project with a famous glass maker on a $100,000 dollar chandelier. The chandelier will be made out of hand blown glass components welded together to form an 8 x 8 glass dragon. The plan is to keep it light so it is able to be mounted high.
At the end of the year, he will also be cutting off his hair and donating it to Locks of Love.
What are you currently working on and do you have any upcoming shows?
I have started preliminary work on a chandelier for a hotel lobby but this is a huge and intensive project. The necessary equipment alone is daunting. We have created a structure to suspend the chandelier as it is being worked on and it needs to be able to support over 500lbs!
I am also working on my next series of paintings but it's too early to describe them.
And finally I am getting ready to show my glass artwork with wood worker Aaron Somers and glass artisan Luke Gilvey.
He is also working on the paintings below. They serve as a blueprint for one much larger canvas onto which they will eventually be transferred to.
