Everybody Wants Some!!
Richard Linklater does the whole "passing of time" film series schtick like no other. Think: Boyhood, the Before Sunrise trilogy. It was only a matter of time (pun intended?) that he follow up his most popular cult favorite, Dazed and Confused. Kicking off SXSW as a headliner, Everybody Wants Some!! made its global debut as the "spiritual sequel" of that most iconic "Alright, alright, alright" movie moment, following a group of baseball bros navigating college life in the '80s. According to the director, most of the antics featured in the film really happened - to him and his friends in their day. Expect, of course, classic long-winded Linklater dialogue mixed in with Dazed-level frat boy fun.
