New Yorrrrrk, Concrete Jungle Where FOOD Is Made Of!
If you are what you eat, then New York City is a party in your stomach and every food group is invited. How about instead of letting the Big Apple chew you up and spit you out, you take a huge bite out of it? From Little Italy, to Chinatown, to Harlem, it really is all the world’s cuisines spat out on one island. However, when “America” and “food” come to a Berliner’s mind, they can’t help but conjure up images of “Supersize Me” or Michael Moore. To the contrary, New York is its own hotspot of global grub with every high-end celebrity chef, budget-sensitive, local fave, non-fat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free food option at the tip of your tongue. Europeans tend to serve up more traditional carnivorous-inclined meals on their menus, but Berlin being its own bubble within Germany, also has a wide range of fingerlickin’ good health-conscious options too. However, there simply isn’t as much variety to dig into as in NYC. Winner: Which city chews up and spits out deliciousness better? This round, I’ll give it to NYC, because it’s got the quality AND the quantity!
