And so, the stream of glamorous moment after glamorous moment that is Cannes has come to an end. This past Sunday festival jurors, led by director George Miller of Mad Max fame, gathered for the Palme d'Or Ceremony, choosing the cream of the cinematic crop. An equivalent to receiving an Oscar, the much coveted Palme d'Or award plays a huge role in determining the fate of a film and the promise of its cast. This year, film veterans including Kirsten Dunst, Vanessa Paradis, Donald Sutherland, Arnaud Desplechin, Valeria Golino, Mads Mikkelsen, Laszlo Nemes, and Katayoon Shahabi rounded up the 69th annual Cannes Film Festival jury, handing out golden palm statues handcrafted by Baccarat to the lucky, select group of international artists.
