Aspect 1: Social Media (or lack thereof)
Back in 1998, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, and even Myspace were barely thoughts floating around the stratosphere. Forget smart phones. Over the past day, 1D fans could mourn in solidarity over these social media channels, but when the Ginger drama happened, all most of us could do was suck on a Spice Girls lollipop alone, in tears. Sorry Zayn, but going through that was a lot worse.
