Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan Magazine
In 1965, Helen became editor-in-chief of
Cosmopolitan and did a complete 180 degree turn-around for the magazine. She made the magazine an acting guide and role model for women who wanted to embrace their and take charge of their sexuality. A leader in the sexual revolution, she claimed women could have it all--love, sex, and money, views that weren't even supported by feminist leaders Betty Friedan and Germaine Greer at the time.
In 1997, Bonnie Fuller replaced Helen as editor-in-chief and Helen went on to be the international editor for all 59 international editions of the magazine up until her death.
