In 2009 alone, King Abdullah gave the first family $190,000 worth of gifts, according to documents released by the state department. Some of the tokens the King gave to the First Family include $7,000 worth of diamond necklaces and earrings for
Sasha and
Malia Obama; a $34,500 gold medallion for the President; and a ruby and diamond jewelry set valued at $132,000 for Michelle. Legally, the first family is required to give almost all gifts they receive to the government, and Michelle's jewels are already on display at the National Archives in DC.
