What's On Sasha Martin's Holiday Wish List?

by Guest of A Guest · December 12, 2023

Certainly Sasha Martin's not in need of any new ensembles this holiday season, she's already a wardrobe filled to the brim with her cult favorite fashion brand Cara Cara's dreamy prête-à-party frocks.

A lifelong New Yorker, Sasha's calendar is of course bursting at the seams with exciting fêtes, festive plans, and expertly curated shopping excursions. Barney Greengrass on Christmas Eve? Perfection.

Curious what's on the style staple's holiday wish list this year?

How do you celebrate the holidays?
With as many parties as I can physically withstand. Burn bright and then burnout until the ball drops, baby!

Where will you be this season?
In New York City - this year and every year.

    Are you a last-minute or way-in-advance shopper?
Way in advance. I hoard them in my old corporate gym bag, bottom left of my closet, like a Survival Prepper.

What's the best gift you've ever received?
This Alonpi cashmere blanket - I always want cozy gifts to enjoy during winter months ahead.

Who's the toughest to shop for on your list?
My father, but Creel and Gow always bails me out with their selection of curated shelf curios

    What's your go-to hostess gift?
A creative hair tie that also functions as a bracelet is what I would want! I love this chunky pearl version from Jennifer Behr, which is merrily on sale on Net a Porter right now.

Favorite spots around town to pick up something in person?
Blue Tree, The Corner Bookstore and Feldman's in Carnegie Hill. You can take care of everyone on your list within two blocks.

Any particularly festive plans or traditions you're most looking forward to this year?
Barney Greengrass catering on Christmas Eve.

What's on your list to get?
A Year in Books subscription from Heywood Hill in London, and this meat tenderizer.

What's on your list to give?
Tickets to Comedy Cellar, classic Madame Alexander dolls and 157 pencils, per my son's specific request.
