Hamptons Beach Read Of The Day: The House That Ate The Hamptons

by CARSON GRIFFITH · June 5, 2009

Who wouldn't want to read a book that has a tagline of The Hamptons, "Where gossip ranks slightly behind cocktails and just ahead of lawn care"? You know we do. While the plot of James Brady's The House That Ate The Hamptons may seem a little bit fluffy (afterall, there are some things more important for Hamptonites to worry about than their neighbors building garish houses... like polos and parties), we nonetheless love the contrast of rap stars to WASPs in this easy beach read. And if the characters don't get you hooked, than you'll enjoy the mentions of regular Hampton haunts, celebrities, and outrageous antics due to a scenario that could only happen on the East End (and even then, it's a big, fat MAYBE).
