Welcome To Ditch Plains SURFING ETIQUETTE

    PHILOSOPHY

If you give respect, you will get respect

Courtesy is contagious - Dont' be a wavehog

Help and encourage those with less experience

When the waves are small or crowded, RELAX!!

    RULES OF THE ROAD

Look both ways before taking off

    DON'T DROP IN !!!

The first person to catch a wave has the right of way

When more than one surfer catches a wave at the same time, the one closest to the curl has right of way

Paddle around the lineup, not through it

If a paddler is caught inside, let the surfer ont he wave pass, and then paddle out behind him

    SAFETLY FIRST

    ALWAYS HOLD ONTO YOUR BOARD!!!

Study the waves and currents before paddling out

Be aware of and ready to react to others at all times

Don't swim near surfers or surf near swimmers

    Respect the Beach!!
