Just a few months ago, author and wine expert Vanessa Price was spearheading a renovation of Montauk's Stone Lion Inn. A quick pandemic later, her plans were postponed, and she's pivoted to make the best of an unexpected situation.
Teaming up with Michelin starred chef Matt Lambert formerly of the Musket Room, Vanessa's just opened Sweet Az at her Edgemere Street location of her paused project, and it's the chillest new pop up in town!
A casual, grab-and-go cafe, Sweet Az is serving up the most delicious gourmet sandwiches and salads and Mexican coca-cola (if you know, you know). And while everything is super affordable -shocking for Montauk, we know - we are of course particularly intrigued by the "Lavish Larry," a $120 situation composed of two ounces of Gold Osetra Caviar with sour cream and chives on a plain potato bun, topped with gold leaf. Only a matter of time until that's all over Instagram!
For those looking for a lighter-on-the-wallet lunch, they've a Pork Shoulder Sandwich with pickled peppers, Fried Oyster Sandwich with remoulade, a lightly seared Bigeye Tuna with soy mirin dressing and plenty more to keep you content!
