Learn To Paddleboard This Summer In The Hamptons With Adventure Paddleboards

by Georgia Bobley · April 23, 2012

A new Hamptons Bays based company is bringing the under-the-radar sport of paddleboarding to the Hamptons this summer!

Adventure Paddleboards, which was founded by Cherryl Bradley, a professional dancer and amateur surfer, and Ed Croce, a surfer, will bring paddleboard rentals, private and group lessons, and group tours to West Hampton, East Hampton, Amaganssett and Montauk.

The company, which is expected to launch later this spring, came about when Bradley started paddleboarding this winter, and realized that it's a sport that anyone can do. She told East Hampton Patch,

"The beauty of it is that you can learn how to do it in about five minutes and you get to get out into nature and into places you can't go with a boat."

Croce, who has been paddleboarding for years, also felt that people had a real interest in learning more about the sport, which originated in California. Their shared love of the sport led to the decision to open Adventure Paddleboards, and Croce told Patch that their main goal is to "deliver fun."

The duo tried to keep their costs low in order to attract families, and board rentals are $40 an hour and $10 for each additional half hour. Group tours start at $50 per person.

Thanks to Adventure Paddleboards, we may be seeing a lot more paddleboarders out in the water this summer!
