You Know You Are Summering In The Hamptons When...

[All photos by SBE] Between the mass migration of people from New York City out to the Hamptons during the summer, the beautiful beaches, and the giant estates, the Hamptons during the summer turns into a place unlike anywhere else in the world. Therefore, if you have ever summered in the Hamptons, some of the items on this list of "You Know You Are Summering In The Hamptons When..." you will easily recognize and agree with. This is obviously a working list with weeks of summer left so if you have any other funny ideas to add to this list, feel free to share your thoughts...

    1. You have driven past the big, red wood sculpture at the entrance to 27 East, but still don't know what to make of it 2. The Range Rover is so popular (we actually pass dozens of RR's no matter where we go). It is essentially the summer staple car...and the GofGHamptons mobile happens to be one. 3. You know what a flabong-o is and are dying to try it 4. You are still waiting to go to that party "on 27" 5. Seeing Kelly Ripa, Billy Joel, or Beth Ostrosky is a VERY common occurrence. 6. You know that The Drift Inn and Neptunes are in the same location, but you also know that they are NOTHING alike. 7. Montauk is technically not considered part of the Hamptons 8. The season is from Memorial day to Labor day, no exceptions 9. Even though you would like to think otherwise, your Black AMEX is not that special...well at least in the Hamptons it isn't 10. The $21 vodka cranberry does exist 11. Cougars are constantly on the prowl 12. Cab rides are rip offs...$80 from Southampton to East or $20/person to go 10 miles...end of discussion. 13. You know that the phrase "the Rolls Royce of Yard Sales" is referring to Super Saturday and it is something you look forward to all summer 14. 27 East and Montauk Highway are the same road 15. You have crashed a summer house party before and it was one of the best nights of your life 16. By labor day you are burnt out of the Hamptons, but swear to do it all over again next summer!
