We love the Hamptons (this website would be pretty crap if we didn't) but even we will acknowledge that, when the weather's acting up, these towns can be a little slow. Our fool-proof solution to suburban boredom? Day drinking!
Last Sunday, as a tornado (apparently) brewed nearby, Team GofG headed to the Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack and relaxed on the terrace with some Rosé and crudités. Talk about class!
This scenic vineyard is the perfect place to while away a lazy-day afternoon with friends and avoid going stir-crazy in the Hamptons. The location is stunning (doesn't get more rustic than a DIY rock compass), tastings are available for $14-$18, bottles are just as cheap and the cheese and meat plates are a great way to pretend you're European.
If you really can't manage to sit still for a few hours and enjoy the view from the sheltered, glass-ceilinged terrace, group tours are also available.
Wölffer Estate Vineyard is open daily from 11-6, 11-7:30 on Thursdays and 11-7 on Friday and Saturday.
Call 631-537-5106 for more info, or visit their website, which features some really great music.
