Candidates: Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum
Because of Mitt Romney's record on healthcare, it has been open season on Romney. Rick Santorum attacked Romney and put the pressure on him, but Romney made a good showing by staying calm and even tried to deflect the attack by citing Gingrich as being the inspiration for Romneycare. Gingrich admitted he supported the idea in the past, but stated that he was not the source for the plan. Michele Bachmann also tried to tie Romney's record to Obama's record on healthcare, which ended up lessening the attack on Romney. Through Santorum focusing so much on Romney, Romney proved that he is a formidable candidate by defending himself so ably.
