Spice Market
New to the London scene, the
Spice Market just opened in Spring of 2011. It's located in the contemporary-styled W Hotel in Leicester Square. The design of the Spice Market is a mix of the old-world feel found in the Spice Market of New York, and streamlined contemporary as scene with the three transparent 78-foot wall of spices. The restaurant is adorned with over 600 custom designed wok-lights, gold Moroccan-esque screens and aged lanterns. Owner, Jean-Georges Vongerichten's idea to offer upscale Southeast Asian fare is realized through the help from Executive chef Peter Lloyd. Some dishes to try are their Chicken and Coconut Milk soup, Lobster Pad Thai, Crispy Salt & Pepper and onion and chili crusted short ribs.
