Her New Title
In April of 2020, Emma's father-in-law, Alexander Thynn, 7th Marquess of Bath, passed away due to the coronavirus. Upon the unfortunate occasion, Emma and her husband, the former Viscountess and Viscount Weymouth, earned the titles of Marchioness and Marquess, making Emma the first Black woman to hold the title in British history.
