2. Where to Eat: Le Petite Maison [Info]
Hidden away behind an alleyway off of Bond Street, Le Petite Maison (the London branch of a celebrity hotspot in Nice) is a local favorite. Even with the steep price tag on most of the dishes, the restaurant doesn't fall into the posh of other Mayfair restaurants. You can dress up or casually stroll in, but make sure to get there early for your reservation; the restaurant does not hold their reserved seats for late-comers.
Our recommendation: If you're not looking for a hearty meal, get a bottle of French wine and share a couple of the tapas-style starters. Order the onion tart with anchovies and the thinly sliced octopus in lemon oil (below) to get a feel for the Mediterranean flavors in the dishes.
