Jim Shaw
Jim Shaw's new exhibit at Blum & Poe showcases more of his morbid motifs with themes of life and death. In the
Mississippi River Mural shown above, Shaw depicts war figures frozen on a backdrop of the Mississippi River, waiting to take action. In other works in the exhibit, Shaw uses images of rivers, houses, hair, and other motifs to depict themes of fallen heroes, collapsed economies, concepts of sin, and general doomsday destruction.
