Gas Giant
For MOCA Pacific Design Center, Hashimoto is producing the third and final edition of Gas Giant at the MOCA Pacific Design Center. Jacob Hashimoto art focuses on visual experiences in space, deception, and technique that allows him to us unique materials such as handmade kites, fiberglass, marble and the clever use of light. This exhibition shows mastering of Hashimoto enormous space-altering installations, which are pieced together by thousands of thin paper sheets. Not only are his works brilliant pieces of art but they have a backbone of science as well.
Jacob Hashimoto’s is made from 30,000 paper kites that come together as a room-filling installation. The installation of Jacob Hashimoto's Gas Giant took 25 days, seven people, and over 30 thousand paper "kites" lining the ceilings of MOCA Pacific Design Center.
