Richard Avedon: Women
Photographer for Harper's Bazaar, later forVogue, the first staff photographer for The New Yorker in a six-decade photography career are just some of the credits to renowned fashion photographer Richard Avedon's name. His exhibit, Women, is on display at Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills with more than 100 silver gelatin photographs and about 300 contact prints. Avedon has photographed prominent women such as Ella Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Taylor, as well as anonymous women, ranging from his family members to strangers in every day moments. Women is his first solo exhibit in Los Angeles since 1976, so take a day off and admire the beauty of women through Avedon's lenses. Ellen Von Unwerth: Made In America
Just to give you a few highlights from Ellen Von Unwerth's professional history: She's photographed celebrities such as Madonna, Rihanna, Kate Upton, and Jennifer Lawrence. Her work has been published in various magazines and publications such as Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Interview. She has also produced short films, directed music videos, and created advertisement campaigns for Chanel, Victoria's Secret, Guess, and Taschen. Now you have the chance to view her work up-close in her exhibit, Made in America. The Power of Photography: National Geographic 125 Years
Happy 125th Anniversary National Geographic! With over 11.5 million images since 1888, National Geographic collaborated with The Annenberg Space for Photography to put on The Power of Photography exhibit. There are 400 photographs on display with a digital installation of print and print mosaics on six video walls, each looping 501 different images which will give each visitor a unique presentation with each visit. Two documentaries are also on display. One will showcase interviews and behind-the-scene footage with renown photographers Lynsey Addario, Marcus Bleasdale, David Guttenfelder, Abelardo Morell, Joel Sartore and Martin Schoeller, whose photographs are featured in October's issue. Another will showcase 20 other photographers about their inspirations and work. Get a chance to view 125 years worth of National Geographic's iconic images for FREE at the Annenberg Space for Photography.
