Jason Martin: Serendipitia
With the use of a single color, British artist Jason Martin blends in two dimensional paintings with sculpturalism. He invites the shadows and three dimensional effects to naturally add details and a depth of color to his works in his exhibit,
Serendipitia. Martin's semi-sculptures seems to capture a frozen moving ocean or muddy riverbank by using paste mediums over aluminum panels and adding multiple layers of pure pigment to intensify the color.
Crossing boundaries from sculptures to paintings (or paintings to sculptures), go to
Serndipitia's opening reception today at L.A. Louver from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to see how Martin creates a limitless boundary of crossing over from paintings to sculptures.
