-Raised in Oakland, California, Zendaya grew up around the California Shakespeare Theater, where her mother works as the house manager and trainer at the theater's student conservatory program.
-Conveniently enough, Zendaya took to the stage at a young age, performing with the dance group, Future Shock Oakland, as well as taking part in various productions at the California Shakespeare Theater and at school at the Oakland School for the Arts.
-Eventually, her professional career expanded to commercial modeling, working with brands like Macy's, Sears, and Old Navy.
