Christian Bale Gave The Most Meme-Worthy Acceptance Speech At The Golden Globes

Half (or, let's be real, all of) the fun of watching a long, drawn-out awards shows in the age of social media is commiserating with fellow entertainment addicts, rapidly cracking jokes on Twitter, and, of course, watching the memes unfold online in real time. And while there were quite a few acceptance speeches that struck an inspiring chord (looking at you Regina King and Glenn Close), the one that fueled the most memes was most definitely Christian Bale's.

The method acting chameleon, who took home the award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Dick Cheney in Vice, had us shook as soon as he opened his mouth and the world was reminded of his very heavy British (or, more specifically, Welsh) accent.

    Phew!

But that's not all, folks. He also thanked "Satan" for inspiring his role as the former Vice President, who is notably Not Great. The sentiment instantly became an entire Twitter Mood™:

Even the official Church of Satan approved, though they had a slightly different take on the statement:

And finally, while he was shouting out his gorgeous wife, Sibi Blazic, Bale had us all questioning our sanity when he referred to his children as "Banana" and "Burrito." Considering there's an Apple in the world of Hollywood offspring, the name Banana wouldn't be so hard to believe, but Burrito? Does Christian Bale really have a kid named Burrito?!

Alas, he does not. But those are adorably misleading nicknames for his children named, as it turns out, Emmaline and James. Though Burrito could be a cute idea for Kim and Kanye's fourth child...

In any case, congrats, Christian, and thanks for the meme-ories.
