September 2006: Snoop Arrested At John Wayne Airport With A Baton
In 2006, Snoop
was detained after trying to fly out of John Wayne Airport in Orange County with a collapsible police-style baton. He was charged with several weapons violations and eventually sentenced to 3 years probation and community service, despite his lawyer's claims that the baton was "a prop" for use in a comedy sketch. Which is probably for the best, because if musicians could get away with claiming all of their contraband was for sketch comedy, Chris Brown probably would have done that a long time ago.
