Why The Clippers Will Be Better #3: No More Zen Master
While
Phil Jackson's time as the head coach of the Lakers was never quite as smooth as a shirtless beach walk in the Marina, the fact remains that Phil is pretty much the only head coach this modern Lakers team has ever known. Despite the fact that he once took a year off to
write a book about how much he hates Kobe Bryant, that Jackson-less year (under
Rudy Tomjanovich) was by far a bigger disaster than anything that happened under Phil's watch.
And now, the Lakers will need to come together under the authority of Mike Brown, whose previous job in Cleveland consisted mainly of letting LeBron James stay up past his bedtime and play video games on school nights. It's not exactly implausible to speculate that he may have some trouble asserting his authority over Kobe, if it comes to that.
