Protesters at ARCO on Sunset at Fairfax, June 8, 2010
Last night, an eclectic crowd of Angelenos came together for a common purpose and held a demonstration to boycott the ARCO gas station (a west coast subsidiary of BP) on the corner of Sunset Blvd and Fairfax a.k.a. "Sunfax." While most of the city was planted in front of a TV somewhere watching the Laker game, the spirited crowd shouted and bounced as they proudly held up their signs to support a different cause at the busy intersection. With posters displaying messages like "HONK IF YOU HATE BP," the group inspired drivers whizzing past and stopped at red lights to lean hard on car horns and show their support.
