Slide #1
For those of you unfamiliar with one of the kookier summer rituals of our fair city, this marks the fourth year in a row that the Community Redevelopment Agency has imported a healthy-sized herd of goats (about 100) to serve as an organic solution to the overgrown Angels Knoll, better known as that hill (on 4th & Hill, of course) across from Grand Central Market next to The Shortest Railway In The World. The goats, who are brought in from a ranch in Chino, save the city a decent amount of money, serve as a far more ecologically sound solution than the gas-powered equipment that would otherwise be used, and perhaps most surprisingly, are estimated to finish the entire job in only two days. And for better or worse, they probably trump the coyote as a far more appropriate city-dwelling metaphor to the thousands of office drones passing by while being herded into their office-building cubicles.
