Duality of Existence – Post Fukushima
Leave it to the Japanese to ponder the new nature of human existence in the age of technology and atomic threats. After the Fukushima nuclear disaster of 2011, a sense of mortality permeated Japan, as the artists featured in Friedman Benda's newest exhibition so poignantly present. Featuring work from well-known names like Motohiko Odani and Takahiro Iwasaki, and controversial collective, Chim↑Pom, the existential exhibition explores modes of multimedia in a post-internet world.
When: June 26 - August 9
Where: Friedman Benda, 515 W 26th St.
