The exhibition title ‘Seven Billion Light Years’ makes reference to the earth’s current population of seven billion human beings – and its cosmic inverse, the unfathomable distance between our mortal lives and a mysterious cosmos. Gupta uses found commonplace objects particularly from the kitchen to illustrate his ideas about each individual possessing a piece of infinity. The result is an exhibition of three dimensional objects attached to canvases and monumental sculptures that will leave you questioning whether we are just a mob of people or not.
