Jaye Moon, "Breaking the Code"
Perhaps you saw Korean-born artist Jaye Moon's multicolored Lego sculptures of miniature homes nestled in the trees of Chelsea or DUMBO last Spring. Moon is back with "Breaking the Code," her third solo outing at Newman Popiashvili in West Chelsea, in which she transforms Braille -- a tactile language -- into visual patterns and numbers.
The works call attention to how something be both visible and yet invisible, public and yet private. And if the numbers aren't your thing, there are a few Legos on display, too, for old time's sake.
Opening: Thursday, October 11, 6-8pm
Dates: October 11 - November 10
Location: Newman Popiashvili Gallery, 504 W. 22nd Street
