Paul McCarthy Presented By Hauser & Wirth
Beginning May 10, Hauser & Wirth's entire spring program will center on the controversial American artist, Paul McCarthy. Through a series of corresponding exhibitions, including two public sculpture presentations, the animated and arousing new works of the artist will make their mark around the city. The first two shows, Paul McCarthy: Life Cast and Paul McCarthy: Sculptures open on May 10, at the Hauser & Wirth galleries located on East 69th and West 18th Street, respectively. Rebel Dabble Babble, a video projection and installation piece inspired by the on-screen and off-screen drama of the 1950's film "Rebel Without a Cause," will open on June 20. In conjunction with the gallery exhibitions, two outdoor sculptures will also be unveiled in the coming weeks. The massive bronze structure, Sisters, will be on display at Hudson River Park, while the 80-foot inflatable "Balloon Dog" will make an appearance on Randall’s Island during the Frieze New York art fair.
