Josephine Meckseper at Parrish Art Museum
As a part of the Parrish Platform series, multimedia artist Josephine Meckseper will be presenting four installations throughout the museum. The sculptures aim to contort ideas about consumerism and culture, combining everyday commodities with aspects of fine art in order to create an atmosphere that is both shopping mall and gallery space.
According to Meckseper,
“By employing shelves, window displays, mirrored platforms, and retail slatwalls as a literal platform to display objects and images, my installations question the paradox inherent in manic consumption and advertising language.”
When: July 4-October 14
Where:
Parrish Art Museum, 279 Montauk Highway Water Mill, NY
