Chath pierSath, I'm Here
Mixed media portraits and collages make up the work of Cambodian artist Chath pierSath, who explores the relationship he now has with his native country after a difficult childhood that resulted in his fleeing to Thailand and, ultimately, the United States, before returning to do humanitarian work. Experimenting with recycled and re-purposed material, pierSath often employs old wood and roof shingles, conjuring the idea that all first impressions could be re-packaged, even when it comes to the place you were born.
