Robert Arneson at David Zwirner
Purposefully vulgar and satirical, the early work of sculptor Robert Arneson certainly isn't your grandma's ceramic. Experimenting with pop iconography and the overly-grotesque, Arneson became associated with the 1960's Funk aesthetic. The roughly 20 pieces to be on display at David Zwirner are both sexually and politically-charged, questioning the conventions of "low culture" and pushing the limits of their medium.
