Jan De Vliegher at Mike Weiss Gallery
In his second solo show with the gallery, Belgium-based painter Jan De Vliegher continues his deep compulsion for the process, dismantling the facade of perfection and displaying drip marks thanks to wet-on-wet application. His techniques, however, are failproof, as he is able to create overwhelmingly large pieces of fresh impressionism, after intense, hours-long painting marathons. Sort of like the Kerouac of the art world.
