Black Friday
Qatari-American artist Sophia Al-Maria is celebrating the opening of her first solo show in the US (at the Whitney, no less). Al-Maria shot Black Friday in the eery, other-worldly malls of Doha - a phenomena to their own right. She explores themes related to commercialism, religion and what she calls gulf futurism in this exhibit through stunning shots. The exhibit runs through October 31.
