The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Ever since its opening in 1880, the MET has grown from a small art space to a colossal museum taking up four city blocks consisting of two million square feet. The MET houses works from all around the and varying time periods. There is an American Wing, Ancient Near Eastern Art, African Art, European Sculpture & Decorative Arts, Modern & Contemporary Art, and everything in between. This is the easiest museum to get lost in, so to use your time wisely make sure you plan out which exhibits you'll be seeing beforehand. We recommend the Charles James: Beyond Fashion and the Colors of the Universe: Chinese Hardstone Carvings exhibits as must-sees.
