The Islands of New York Solo Exhibitions

The Islands of New York Solo Exhibitions
It may be common knowledge that Manhattan is an island (and a small one at that), but did you know that the five boroughs of NYC are made up of over 40 islands? Sure, they're not pacific paradises brimming with palm trees, but knowledge of our city's geography is essential—a fact made especially clear during last year's Hurricane Sandy. Nature photographer Accra Shepp has spent the past five years exploring the floating landmasses of New York, with his work appearing in the MoMA and the Museum of the City of New York. He is now prepping for two upcoming solo shows, aimed to increase vital environmental awareness and understanding for residents, but needs help paying for the high-quality printing and production costs of his pieces. For a pledge of just $100, you can receive your own, signed archival print from one of NYC's most promising photogs. For more information/to make a donation, go HERE [Photo via]
