Artist Elise Cirillo is a certified glamazon - you've likely seen her out and about at openings and parties across the city and figured she was a model (which is probably not not true). But her passion for fashion extends beyond the superficial, and luckily for us, she channels her ever-stylish creativity into painting - both on canvas and clothes.
This Sunday, May 6th, Elise is showcasing her first collection of "Girls," chic, mysterious, sporting red lips and black lashes. The images are reminiscent of Patrick Nagel's iconic '80s prints, but with all the spirit and fierceness of having been created by a woman. A scroll through her Insta feed reveals Elise's takes on the Time's Up movement, and feminist cries of "Fuck off!" Her girls are fabulous but independent. You can look but (try to) touch at your own risk.
Presented at subterranean hot spot The Seville, the show aims "to bring emotion back into fashion and remind people that fashion is a form of expression and an art form for the body." Elise encourages guests to go all out for this fashionable fete and "be as extra as you possibly can!" Certainly not a bad way to celebrate the night before the Met Gala.
Come for the 'grammable artwork and stay for the drinks - and the chance to win a custom painted jacket by the artist herself!
