His Pedigree
While he's definitely a con man, Philbrick isn't Anna Delvey-ing his well-to-do background. He's not quite a scion, but he grew up in the art world and has a last name that could practically be traced back to the Mayflower. He was born in Redding, Connecticut. His father is an art museum director, his mother, an artist. He was educated across the pond, at the posh Goldsmiths, University of London, where he was able to make all the right connections among the upper crust. Then followed the internship at White Cube and voila - the rest is history.
