Alex suggests bleaching hair no more than twice a month if you're looking for rapid change. When your hair inevitably grows out, your roots will be a straight line across your entire head. To avoid this, add a few strands of blond through your roots, almost like you're highlighting them, so the grow-out doesn't look unnatural. "Bleaching your hair straight is never a good idea because you're adding bleach to the scalp. You want to make sure you don't irritate your scalp," she says.

"Oils help the scalp, and the more you help the scalp the healthier your hair will be. Leave a good leave-in conditioner for at least ten minutes twice a month under heat - you need to open up the cuticles so the treatment can penetrate. Put it on before you go to the gym or right before you lay in the sun on the beach."

We normally apply hair conditioners at night so our body heat can open up the cuticles, but if you're in a rush and need to do a quick treatment, use Yuni's Hot Head Hair Treatment, a body heat activated conditioning mist, right before you use Alias' Mint and Lavendar Detangler. If you are able to keep the conditioner in for longer, try Briogeo's Don't Despair, Repair! Mask - it turns into an oil on your hair, keeping moisture locked in all night.
