Bleaching your hair causes a lot of damage and breakage, but you can avoid most of that by using the right conditioners. Always leave about 75% of the conditioner in your hair after a shower, and constantly spray leave in conditioner throughout the day.

Our favorite shower conditioners are Volaire's Weightless Fortifying Conditioner and Goldwell Kerasilk's Color Conditioner, which is slightly purple. Volaire's conditioner is really thick and luxurious and we like to leave it on for a few minutes before washing it off. Use Volaire twice a week because too much moisture causes breakage. Goldwell Kerasilk has a purple tint and smells amazing - this is what we use every day because it's not too heavy and is really good for split ends.

If you have damaged your hair beyond repair, wait for it to grow out. Marie Robinson from Marie Robinson Salon notes that "your body will always grow out healthy hair unless you have had been ill or on medication that can effect the quality of your hair.  New hair growing would have to be damaged by heat styling, straightening treatments and over color processing.  If this hair has no elasticity and the ends are very frayed it is best then to nip them off. If your hair is just dry feeling but not breaking than you can use treatments which will slick the shaft or seal the cuticle which help look and feel healthier." Sometimes you just need to cut it off and let healthy, new hair grow in.

If you have curly hair, Alias' Leave In Conditioner is a great detangler spray infused with ProVitamin B5 and active botanicals. Use it before bed so the heat of your scalp will allow the proteins to penetrate. EvolvH's Smart Start Leave-In Conditioner is a great everyday product to carry in your bag and they use mainly organic ingredients, so you don't have to worry about build up.
