THAT’S WHAT FRENEMIES ARE FOR - Sophie Littlefield

I’m a big fan of an imperfect protagonist. It’s why I love Eleanor Oliphant and anything by Roxane gay. When this book was described to me as something perfect for the fans of When Life Gives you Lululemons, I was sold. But if there is one piece of advice I'd give to literary PR people, it’s not to compare a sub-par new release to a book with an established fanbase. This is the story of an over-privileged NYC mom whose Hamptons house is destroyed by water damage right before the summer. As a result she takes on a new hobby: turning a mid-western instructor from the new spin-gym into a social media influencer. Trust me, I love a Blair Waldorf wannabe as much as the next person, but there is nobody to root for here. Everyone is an asshole, nobody deserves a happy ending, and you shouldn’t give this book a minute of your time.
