NY Daily News confirms that the Belltell Lofts in downtown Brooklyn will be the site for the Real World number eight million. Upon perusing their website, I’m actually a little curious about this choice. The website compares the neighborhood to Dumbo, basically recognizing its potential to grow into such a neighborhood but acknowledging it is still an up-and-comer. Hopefully the folks at Belltel don’t expect seven drunken strangers, picked to wallow in a slightly out-of-place condo and have the (pinnacle of their) lives taped, to help speed along the evolution of a neighborhood for the better? I’m no expert on this area of Brooklyn, but this seems like probably not such a great idea.
