There are two types of Brooklyn hipsters: the green juice guzzling, yoga loving, up at sunrise, grateful for their day ones... aaaaand the pizza-coma slackers who can barely be bothered to walk to the bodega for toilet paper. If there's one thing that could bring these two groups beautifully together, it's the annual NYC Pizza Run.
Yes, Pizza Run.
After seven years in the East Village, the saucy 5K is headed to BK, taking place on September 17th in Fort Greene Park. The 3.1 mile race requires running (and/or cheese) enthusiasts to stop at two pizza stations for a slice between laps, and the winner is crowned NYC Pizza Run Champion.
Participants receive a bunch of goodies, including an official tee, but going above and beyond in accordance with the theme is pretty de rigueur. We mean, just look at that guy up there.
A portion of the proceeds from the race benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and while it's too late to sign up, all are welcome to come, watch, and cheer on with some cheesy goodness.
