Sister Act
-The sisters decided to form their own band in 2006, although it was mainly put on the back burner for a few years while they pursued other interests.
-In 2010, the trio took on HAIM full-time, which finally took the band to the next level, landing gigs opening for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Ke$ha.
-Their first release, a three-track EP entitled
Forever, came out as a free download in February 2012 but HAIM's big break came about a month later, at Austin's South by Southwest Festival. As Danielle said in an interview,
“That was where things really picked up a gear for us. We did six shows. The first one was maybe a disaster. The sound was okay but there were not many people there. Then it snowballed and got kind of crazy — by the end of the weekend there were lines out the door.”
