Mary Thom, who served as editor for Ms. Magazine for 20 years, died in a motorcycle crash last Friday. Her influence, leadership and writings helped shape the feminist movement during the '70s. After her career at Ms., she continued on in the struggle for women’s rights as the editor for The Women’s Media Center until her death. “Mary was one of the great writers, editors and visionaries of the women’s movement, and the heart and soul of Women’s Media Center’s feature writing,” Women's Media Center President Julie Burton Said in a statement.
