And there was no one as determined on stage as Erin last night. Her acceptance speech reached the entire audience, with her call for action against sexual abuse. Erin was abused twice before the age of 13 by a friend's uncle and by her cousin. When her younger sister revealed that she had also been a victim of their cousin's sexual abuse, Erin decided it was time to speak up. Since that day, she made it her personal mission to make sure that no other child endure what they had.
Now, at age 27, she's passed Erin's Law, a law encouraging sex abuse education, in four states. In her speech she insisted that she wouldn't stop until it gets passed in all 50 states.
